It includes more features than CleanMyMac, including Find Duplicates and Defragmentation, and has tools that regularly check your hard drive for physical corruption. The best part? Drive Genius is also used and recommended by the tech geeks at the Apple Genius Bar. The app includes every feature a cleaner app has to offer, plus additional protection against viruses and malware which helps protect your investment from any threat. It’s the runner-up in our Best Mac Cleaner Software review, where my teammate JP sums up the application’s strengths: Read our full review.Īfter a recent price drop, it’s now actually less expensive than purchasing CleanMyMac outright. The Premium Alternative: Drive GeniusĪre you looking for a single app that includes all of the cleanup features you need? Prosoft Engineering’s Drive Genius ($79) is a little harder to use but offers enhanced security and optimization. There are a number of similar apps that are significantly easier on your pocket, as well as free utilities that will clean up your Mac, though you’ll need a small collection of them to match CleanMyMac’s functionality. If you need de-duplication, Gemini 2 will cost you a little more. You can buy it outright for about $90, or subscribe on a yearly basis for about $40. It Costs More Than the CompetitionĬleanMyMac isn’t cheap. There are a few quality Mac cleanup apps that do just that. Rather than purchasing and running two different programs to cover the bases, you might prefer to use just one app that can do it all. Gemini adds the much-needed duplicate file detection and deletion. Our winner is actually a combination of two MacPaw apps-CleanMyMac and Gemini-because CleanMyMac on its own doesn’t have all of the features to compete with the leading competitors. I mentioned earlier that CleanMyMac is the winner of our Best Mac Cleaner Software review, but technically speaking, that’s not the whole story. Why should you consider an alternative? The results from this study suggest that simply eating fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids 2-3 times a week or taking a fish oil providing at least 1,000 mg of EPA+DHA daily reduce the risk of developing severe mental decline by nearly 50%. For example, analysis from the famous Framingham Heart Study found that people with higher blood levels of DHA reduced their risk of developing dementia by 47% when compared to people with lower levels of DHA. Of course, a higher intake of these omega-3 fatty acids is associated with better mood and mental function scores on their own. These results are game-changing because they show that B vitamins better slow the rate of brain atrophy in mild cognitive impairment in those with a good level of EPA+DHA. But for those with high baseline EPA+DHA levels, the B vitamins were very effective in preventing cognitive decline compared to the placebo. What the researchers found was that for people with low levels of EPA+DHA, the B vitamin supplement had little to no effect in preventing the loss of gray matter. Their cognitive performance was also measured, and the results compared with the baseline results from the start of the study. The participants were split into two randomly selected groups, who received either a B-vitamin supplement or a placebo pill over two years. More than 250 people with poor brainpower were given a set of tests to measure their cognition and levels of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA in their blood. 4 Omega-3sĪnother study conducted at Oxford University found that having higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids in the brain boosted the benefits of B vitamins in improving cognitive function. In their conclusion, the Oxford researchers found that B-vitamin supplementation can slow the atrophy of specific brain regions that are associated with cognitive decline. Homocysteine can lead to increased oxidative damage to the brain and other tissues. Homocysteine is a metabolite of the amino acid methionine that will be increased if B12, B6, or folic acid levels are low. The researchers also found that those whose grey matter shrunk fastest had higher levels of homocysteine, and those with higher homocysteine levels initially received the greatest benefit from the B vitamin supplements. Upon completion of the two-year study, researchers found that those given the B vitamin supplement had about seven times less grey matter shrinkage than the placebo group. Atrophying (shrinking) grey matter is a sign of accelerated aging of the brain. īefore the trial and during the testing period, the researchers utilized magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to measure the patients’ atrophy levels of grey matter in their brains. Those levels of folic acid, B6, and B12 are what you might typically find in a high potency multiple vitamin and mineral formula. The patients were divided into two groups: one group took a daily supplement with 800 micrograms of folic acid, 20 milligrams of vitamin B6, and 500 micrograms of vitamin B12 the other group took a placebo supplement. 4 The study involved 156 elderly patients who had mild cognitive impairment and a high risk of developing severe loss of mental function. Let’s take a look first at a study conducted at Oxford’s Department of Clinical Neurosciences that highlights the impact of supplemental B vitamins. Not surprisingly, they work best when both are taken. Given the frequency of nutrient deficiency, especially in the elderly population, it is possible that many cases of impaired mental function and memory have a nutritional cause.ī vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids are critically important to brain function and memory are. Numerous studies have shown that brain function is directly related to nutritional status, especially for key nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids. Best Overall: Vitamin B, Omega-3s, or a Quality Multivitamin Not surprisingly, many of the same dietary, lifestyle, and supplement strategies to support heart health have the additional benefit (either directly or indirectly) of supporting brain health as well. It is also important to point out that there is a very strong link between cardiovascular health and brain health. This article will focus on those with the most research support. There are many dietary supplement ingredients that promote improved brain health. Young or old, our nutritional status plays a vital role in determining how well our brain functions. Scientific studies have shown that intelligence, memory, behavior, and concentration are all influenced by the quality of brain nutrition. Memory loss and decreased brain power are NOT inevitable as we age.īrain cells are the most complex, long-living, and nutritionally demanding cells in the body. Don't slow yourself down by forcing yourself to sift through data you no longer need. Keeping your Git repository tidy may not seem urgent at first, but the more a repository grows, the more important it becomes to prune unnecessary data. That's it! Maintaining your Git repository Next, prune the local reference to the remote branch: $ git remote prune origin Delete the local reference to the remote branch.įirst, list all the branches that you can delete or prune on your local repository: $ git remote prune origin -dry-run Itâs worth mentioning that this changes all your remote-tracking branch names, too. For instance, if you want to rename pb to paul, you can do so with git remote rename: git remote rename pb paul git remote origin paul. In this example, test-branch is the name of the topic branch that you deleted in the remote repository.Ä£. You can run git remote rename to change a remoteâs shortname. Checkout the central branch of your repository (such as main or master). In the example above, weâre on the local feature branch, but we can still remove the remote feature branch without any problem. Moreover, unlike the local branch deletion, we can delete a remote branch no matter which local branch weâre currently working on. Therefore, if we launch git push now, the local feature branch will be pushed to remote again. That is to say, deleting a remote branch wonât impact the local tracking branches. However, the local feature branch is still there. Next, letâs remove the remote feature branch: $ git push origin -d featureĪs we can see, after we execute the git push -d feature command, the remote feature branch has been deleted. Further, weâre currently on the local feature branch. So, now we have the local and remote feature branches. git branch -d/-D Wonât Delete the Remote BranchÄ«ranch 'feature' set up to track 'origin/feature'. However, if we want to discard the unmerged commits, as the error message suggested, we can run â git branch -D featureâ to execute a force deletion: $ git branch -D feature From within the local clone folder: git remote add production gitproduction-server:folder/repo.git. First, we can merge the feature branch into master and then execute â git branch -d featureâ again. You can add a remote to this repo, other than origin lets add production. can name an arbitrary remote ref (for example. should be the name of a remote repository as passed to git-fetch 1.* commit 3aac499 (origin/master, origin/HEAD, master) More precisely, git pull runs git fetch with the given parameters and then depending on configuration options or command line flags, will call either git rebase or git merge to reconcile diverging branches. This is because the to-be-deleted branch ( feature) is ahead of the default branch ( master): $ git log -graph -abbrev-commit If you are sure you want to delete it, run 'git branch -D feature'. Your branch is up to date with 'origin/master'.Ä®rror: The branch 'feature' is not fully merged. Now, Git will refuse to delete the feature branch if we still use the -d option: $ git checkout master $ git ci -am'add "feature" to the readme' No changes added to commit (use "git add" and/or "git commit -a") This parameter can be either a URL or the name of a remote (see the GIT URLS and REMOTES sections of git-fetch1). When multiple -server-optionAdjust the ref-filter code to be more lenient by hardening the logic in copysubject and findsubpos to correctly parse messages containing CRLF. But this time, weâre going to make some changes and commit it: $ git checkout -b feature The given string must not contain a NUL or LF character. This behaviour is a regression for git branch -verbose, which bisects down to 949af0684c ('branch: use ref-filter printing APIs',, Git v2.13.0-rc0 - merge listed in batch 1). First, letâs create the feature branch again. WOW! This book held The Hubster and I spellbound! Battlegroup Avalon is book three in the Castle Federation, an exciting space opera series written by Glenn Stewart. ❖ ❖ ❖ An ebook/Audiobook Buddy Read w/The Hubster ❖ ❖ ❖ I’m already wondering at how Kyle is going to handle things, the machinations of Walkingstick and how the next book is going to unfold. Even our captain throws open the door to ideas and is prepared to try them. I liked that each lead character from each group was open to ideas and had someone who was prepared to offer the wild and crazy. Through out the book we focus not only on Kyle but also characters from the Space Fighters - Michael Stanford from previous books and the Marines - El-Maj Edvard Hansen is already a favourite of mine - and I should correct that to the Castle damned Marines (wolf howl). Ones that made me gasp and know I’ll miss the character. This means we witness some stellar battle plays to try and outwit the enemy. Of course there are complications that mean that he can’t quite follow orders. Kyle Roberts is given the task of playing a cat and mouse game with the enemy fleet. It’s action packed, tense and kept me glued to the story. I went from 67% to 91% seemingly without blinking. The action heats up around half way and I read the second half of the book in one sitting. I think for a while I was looking around corners, as it were, wondering if there was a hidden enemy yet to be introduced. I don’t mean to imply it wasn’t interesting reading because it was. This part for me dragged a little, but I think that was more due to my sporadic reading of it rather than any fault of the book. It encompasses the strategy sessions, the meetings to discuss worst case scenarios and the planning / practice sessions to ensure a win. The first third of the book is a military campaign. Instead we have our hero Kyle being what he should be - in relation to our world building - a junior captain (per time in the role) working as part of a battle group under the aegis of a senior admiral. It doesn’t lack in quality but you don’t have an immediate bad guy or conspiracy to focus on. This book is different from it’s predecessors. Set the idle speed adjusting screw clockwise to increase and counter-clockwise to decrease. What is the best way to adjust a carburetor?Ĭarb Quick Guide Make sure the carburetor is set to factory settings: Start the bike and bring to the operating temperature. Remove the air filter element with a screwdriver and remove the air filter cover. With the supplied chainsaw wrench, remove the bar and chain from your chainsaw. On any Stihl chainsaw, there is a relatively simple and cost-effective way to clean out a carburetor. On a Stihl chainsaw, how do you clean a carburetor? Carburetor cleaner should be applied to the parts of the carburetor visible under the air filter. If necessary, remove the air filter and clean it. The cover is released by a screw on most Stihl trimmers, which can be turned counterclockwise with a screwdriver. One marked “H,” for high speed, one marked “L,” for low speed, and one marked “LA,” which is your idle low speed air adjustment. On a Stihl chainsaw, what does H and La mean? If the engine stalls while idling, turn the idle speed screw clockwise until the cutting blades on the Stihl HS-80 start to move. With a flat screwdriver, rotate the low speed screw clockwise until it fully seats. How to Adjust a Stihl HS-80’s Carburetor Start the engine and let it warm up for five minutes. What size string does a Stihl FS 90 use? On a Stihl hedge trimmer, how do you adjust the carburetor?.How do you change the string on a Stihl FS 55?. How do you start a Stihl FS 55 Weedeater?.It regulates the fuel/air mixture passing through the motor at low rpms.” That’s the “low” side adjustment, as the “L” means. During high rpms, it regulates the fuel/air mixture that passes into the motor. The “h” on every saw indicates that it is the “high” side adjustment. A clogged fuel filter is frequently caused by the chainsaw’s old fuel. It’s possible that the fuel filter is clogged. Try cleaning the carburetor with a carburetor cleaner if it’s clogged. Why does my chainsaw begin and then stop? This sticky fuel can clog the carburetor, causing the chainsaw engine to stall. Turn the “Lo” screw counterclockwise until the engine idle smooths out. To position the needle end of the screws into the carburetor’s “jets,” tighten the screws with a small Phillips screwdriver. How to Adjust a Weed Eater’s Carburetor Locate the two fuel adjustment screws on the carburetor’s side. Also, what is the procedure for adjusting a Weedeater carburetor? Adjust the high-speed (H) screw if the saw is stalling or doesn’t reach full power when you pull the throttle trigger. To do so, use a flat-head screwdriver to turn the “L” screw clockwise and counterclockwise.Īlso, when I give my chainsaw gas, why does it stall? When the carburetor gets too much or not enough fuel, an engine stalls. Before adjusting the high- and low-speed screws, determine the carburetor type. They’re the high-speed, low-speed, and idle adjustments, respectively. Similarly, on a Stihl chainsaw, how do you adjust the carburetor? To rev the engine, press the machine’s trigger. Allow the engine to warm up before starting it. To open the ‘L’ screw, tighten it all the way and turn it one turn counterclockwise. How to Adjust a Stihl Weed Eater’s Carburetor Turn the high-speed screw marked ‘H’ counterclockwise until it comes to a complete stop. |
